Author description

Jean Willoughby is a writer and dedicated student of traditional herbal medicine. Her writing has appeared in MAKE Magazine, Growing Innovation 1.0, and The New Farmers' Almanac. She farms and lives in Pittsboro, North Carolina, where she is a project director at the Rural Advancement Foundation International. Illustrator Katie Shelly is a media designer who does books, videos, illustration, graphics and beyond. Her first book, Picture Cook, reinvented the recipe through an innovative all-visual approach. She lives and works in New York City as a media designer at the Smithsonian Cooper Hewitt, National Design Museum.
