Author description

Mark is a writer who loves stories that make him laugh, think or dream. He spends a lot of time in his imagination and, together with his wife Rowan, creates award-winning picture books for the enjoyment of all ages. Before becoming an author, Mark sang in a band, worked in the music export industry, and ran a graphic design business with Rowan. His books include the hilarious Baa Baa Smart Sheep (Children's Choice award - New Zealand Post Book Awards), I Love Lemonade, and Two Little Bugs (Book of the Year - New Zealand Book Design Awards / 'White Raven' award, International Youth Library, Germany). Mark loves ocean swimming and animated movies. He thinks Frisbees are the greatest and seldom passes up on a slice of peanut butter on toast. When he is not writing (or making cups of tea for Rowan), Mark can often be found playing-up with his young son or getting-down with his guitar. Mark lives on Waiheke Island, New Zealand.
